Part of the excitement of September 1, the start of the school year, is the feeling of getting a fresh start: new class, new teacher, new friends, and new school supplies.
But women who've been rescued from Arab villages most often don't have the financial wherewithal to buy their children new book bags. That's why Yad L'Achim launched an annual program to distribute hundreds of book bags to families throughout the country.
Thanks to the program, needy children marched proudly into class on the first day of school with brand new book bags on their backs, just like all of the other children.
May they, and all the children of Israel, have a successful year of growth - academically, spiritually and socially.
