Rimon Internet to Block Missionary Sites

Decision comes in response to Yad L’Achim appeal
Rimon, an internet provider in Israel that blocks objectionable content, has agreed to adjust its system to filter out missionary sites.
The decision came in response to requests from Yad L’Achim, which was inundated with appeals from parents complaining that their families were being exposed to missionary content on the internet.
“With most of the different filter degrees, it is easily possible to surf hundreds of missionary sites connected to ‘Messianic Jews’ and other cults,” Yad L’Achim wrote in a letter to Rimon. “Many of your customers, alongside leading Rabbis from all sectors, have repeatedly complained that your system allows access to these inappropriate sites, including movies that transmit Christian missionary messages.”
“As the organization that has been entrusted with battling these cults, we ask for an urgent meeting to brief you on the dangers, so that you will act to block these harmful sites immediately.”
Attached to Yad L’Achim’s request was a halachic ruling stating unequivocally that every effort must be made to block sites connected to missionaries.
Yad L’Achim this week received a positive response from Rimon marketing official Nadav Roth. However, he added that the company needs Yad L’Achim to provide it with a list of dangerous web sites.
“If you get us the addresses of missionary sites we will do everything to block access to them,” he wrote.
Needless to say, Yad L’Achim hastened to provide the information in order to prevent thousands from being exposed to the missionaries’ spiritual poison.
