Yad L’Achim Succeeds in Lifting Missionary Mask in Ramat Gan

March 19, 2019

Somewhere along Jabotinsky Street in Ramat Gan is a church of the “Messianic Jews” cult that preys on Jews in the area. Yad L’Achim has a team stationed near the entrance to the church to warn off passersby and area residents.

The building that houses the church is next door to, l’havdil, a shul that is used regularly by people who work in the many offices in the area. Yad L’Achim staffers took advantage of this to print a huge sign hung at the church’s entrance that warns Jews that the church is masquerading as something connected to Judaism and directs them to the shul.

“The sign is very meaningful,” says one staffer, “since it warns the public away from the missionary masquerade.”

In the wake of a missionary invitation to “celebrate” Purim at the church, Yad L’Achim intends to take advantage of the shul to organize Megillah reading on that day, precisely at the time the church had called its event.

“This past Chanukah, we organized a central menorah-lighting at a plaza that is right outside the church. This led the missionaries to cancel a Chanukah event they had planned. We hope this time, as well, that the Megillah reading will lead the missionaries to cancel their Purim events and ultimately to closure their church. We all hope that at this time we will merit to see the Jewish people experience light and joy…”
