Steimatzky Employee Donates Koran to Yad L’Achim

The Koran translated into Hebrew that was purchased at a Steimatzky book store
As part of her preparations for a meeting with a young woman who was about to convert to Islam, a Yad L’Achim activist sought to purchase a Koran translated into Hebrew. She wanted to show the young woman – who was just days away from appearing in the Sharia Court to convert – how the Koran relates to women and the contradictions in its teachings.
The activist called the Steimatzky book store in Givat Shmuel and asked whether they had the Koran translated into Hebrew. When she was told yes, she asked the saleswoman to put aside a copy for Yad L’Achim, and that a messenger was on the way to pick it up.
A short while later, the messenger arrived and asked to pay for the book. To his surprise, the saleswoman took NIS 150 out of her wallet, the cost of the book, and put it in the cash register.
“Take the book, it’s on me,” she said. “I want to participate in Yad L’Achim’s holy work, at least financially.”
